House Details:
Tall vaulted ceilings:
As soon as you enter the home, you will be awestruck by the
vaulted ceiling which is about 12 feet tall. The ceilings are in their original wooden planks running across throughout. As you step into the living room, these ceilings are very open. The vaulted ceiling runs into the master bedroom, making it a wonderful and attractive sight for relaxing. The vaulted ceiling continues into the master bathroom as well. There is a wood-burning fireplace in the house, which makes it very comfortable on winter nights.
Tall windows:
The vaulted ceilings have created a lot of space. Hence, there are floor-to-ceiling windows and sliding doors with a height of about 9 feet. One living room wall is completely glass-covered with sliding doors that take you to the front patio and tall static windows that bring in the sunlight. There is another sliding door that leads to the back patio. There are triangular windows towards the ceiling that bring in more light. The bedroom has tall, broad sliding doors on one side of the wall, which open into the front patio, bringing in sunlight. A triangular window towards the vaulted ceiling brings in more light. There is a huge triangular window towards the ceiling in the master bathroom.
Beautiful views:
There are huge redwood trees all around the community and around the house, giving beautiful views through our windows from inside the home and bringing a lot of shade and wind. Fresh air is all around, making a good morning jog or walk around the community worthwhile. You can see the tall redwoods in your living room and bedroom. During the rains, it is an amazing view with rain hitting these trees and the leaves swaying in the wind.
Lots of sunlight:
Our house is east-facing, and with all the giant windows around the house, we get a lot of sunlight. There is no need to turn on any lights during the day. Natural light in the home was one of our main criteria to buy the house. I sit near our large windows in the morning to soak up some vitamin D. In the winter, our house is warm as sunlight enters these windows and sliding doors, making it very comfortable.
Updated kitchen:
The kitchen is fully functional and easily accessible with stainless steel appliances. The kitchen has plenty of storage cabinets to fit everything easily. My husband and I have spent hours in the kitchen cooking for our friends and family. Our son joined us in cooking and made his first dish alone this summer. There is a lot of counter space to store all your automatic devices like Insta pot, blender, etc. There are enough drawers and cabinets from the floor to the ceiling on one side.
Updated bathrooms:
We recently updated all our bathrooms with modern tiles and cabinets. The common bathroom has a huge skylight that brings in the natural light and does not need the light to be turned on during the day. The bathroom has a tub, shower, and a huge mirror. The master bathroom has a standing shower with modern tiles and cabinets.
Plenty of storage:
There is plenty of storage around the house. There is a huge closet behind mirrored sliding doors as soon as you enter. This closet has our shoe stand on one side, leaving plenty of room on the other to store suitcases, toys, etc. A pantry behind a door in the hallway can store all the extra items from Costco. The kitchen has enough storage to fit all your kitchen items. The bedrooms have spacious closets with a walk-in closet in the master bedroom, while the other has one wall as the closet with bifold doors. There is also a spacious attic in the master bedroom to store items not used frequently. A washer-dryer area has bi-fold doors and ample cabinets to hold your laundry items. Apart from all the storage inside the home, there is a built-in spacious storage on the front patio on one side, which can be locked and kept safe.
Landscaping:
The house has two private patios, one in the front with artificial turf and pavers on the other. We have plants along the fence, which make the house look beautiful. There is another small patio where we grill and spend our day under the shade of the trees around the house. Our son has had much fun running around on the patio and spending quality time.
Neighborhood Details
Community:
The Brookline community center has a common area to host your parties and a big swimming pool. The kids in the community use the swimming pool all summer. The community center is right in front of our house so it’s easily accessible.
The landscaping around the community is amazing, with well-cut shrubs and flower plants. They do a great job keeping it clean and well-kept. There are clear pathways to walk around the community. It’s a beautiful walk with greenery and flowers on both sides of the pathway around the homes in the areas.
Location:
The house is centrally located, with easy access to 101 to SF and North Bay. There is access to 237 to get to the east bay as well. Cupertino, Mountain View, Palo Alto, and Santa Clara are easily reachable in multiple ways, making it perfect!
Offices:
Apple, Linkedin, Google, Walmart, and others are all within 10 minutes of driving. With COVID the wind-down, a commuter’s dream is to get to these offices and the Caltrain station if a longer commute is needed.
Schools:
The Cumberland Elementary School is 5 5-minute walking distance away. There are a lot of kids from the community who walk together or bike to the school. Sunnyvale Middle School is 5 mins by car, which makes it very convenient to drop the kids to school. Homestead High School is an 8-minute drive as well. Private schools like Challengers and Stratford are 4-5 mins away, making it a convenient location to raise our kids.
Parks & Library:
The Las Palmas part is a 10-minute walk, a huge park with an additional dog park attached. Mango Park is another beautiful park with a 4 min drive with about 4 tennis courts. My husband and son played tennis on those courts every weekend.
The Sunnyvale Library is a 10-minute walk with many books; storytelling events and other summer events are organized during the year. My son and I have spent much time in the library all these years, choosing books to bring home and socializing with other kids.
Dining & Shopping:
Sunnyvale downtown is a 6-minute drive with fantastic restaurants and pubs. Whole Foods, AMC, Target, Caltrain station, and a weekly Farmers Market are all in the downtown area to spend time with family. There is also a series of Tesla chargers in Target that you can leave your TEsla car to charge. There is also a Safeway with Tesla chargers 4 mins drive away, making it a very convenient location. There is an Indian grocery store that is 4 minutes away by a walk, making it very convenient to stop by to pick up things that are needed urgently. El Camino Real has the much-needed stores for groceries, beautiful restaurants, and convenience for kids’ classes.
This is not just a house but our home. Our home is where love resides, memories are created, friends always belong, and laughter never ends.
